Sleep and Pain in Sickle Cell Disease
(SASI)

We are seeking to better understand sleep and pain in people with Sickle Cell Disease. Specifically, the aim of this project is to determine whether improvements in sleep by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) reduce pain and alter brain processing of pain and cognitive stimuli by using sensory testing and MRI scans.

This project is done in collaboration with Dr. Claudia Campbell and Dr. Jennifer Haythornthwaite at Johns Hopkins University.
